Professor
of Information Science
Professor Wilson Olabode Aiyepeku
was the pioneer director of ARCIS from 1990 to 1996. He holds a doctorate
degree in information science, and is a Fellow of the Institute of
Information Scientists. He has led or participated in consultancy
assignments for several international organizations, including
UNESCO, the Economic Commission for Africa, the Council for the
Development of Social Science Research in Africa, the World Bank/GEF,
the
International Development Research Centre, and the Central Bank of
Nigeria.
He has also led consultancies for and to many
Nigerian public and private institutions, including the
International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan, the Nigerian
Institute for Transport Technology, the Federal Capital Territory,
the Social Science Academy of Nigeria, and the National Universities
Commission.
He is on the editorial board of several
information science journals, including Education for Information,
Journal of Information Science, and Information Technology for
Development. He specializes in development information systems
design and evaluation.
